Features and benefits

Get documents signed inside Moodle

No printing, no email chains, no separate e-signature tool. Upload any document your users need to sign to keep learning and manage the whole process on the platform.

Assign signers

Choose signers by department, specific activities, or jobs. The right documents reach the right people on time, every time

Set priorities

Prioritize documents based on urgency, so signers know what needs their attention first, and important documents don’t get buried.

Control timing

Set when a document becomes available and when it’s due. Keep signing on schedule without chasing people across the office or Slack.

Automate reminders

Set automatic reminders for anyone who hasn’t signed, choose the frequency, and customize what they say. Keep follow-ups going until the document is signed.

Publish and unpublish when you need it

Document ready to be signed? Hit publish, and it’ll reach your learners right away. Unpublish a document to update its details and publish it again when it’s ready.

Track signing progress

Two people still haven’t signed the contract you sent? See every document and exactly how far along it is, with a completion percentage for each.
1

Open Read & Sign from the quick menu

Click the quick menu and select the Read & Sign icon. This is where you create documents, manage them, and track signing progress.
2

Create a new reading file

Click New reading file and enter the document title. Add a description and upload the document, using one of the accepted file formats.
3

Choose who needs to sign

Assign signers by department or position based on your organizational structure, or select specific users one by one. Combine these as needed so the document reaches the right people.
4

Set priority, dates, and reminders

Mark the document as high or urgent priority, set a start date and an expiration deadline, and turn on reminders. Choose how often reminders go out and edit the reminder text.
5

Publish the document

Click Publish to make the document ready for signing. The status tab shows whether it’s published or not. Users can only sign once a document is published. You can also unpublish a document to change the settings.
6

Track status

Monitor all reading files in one place, with signed counts and completion percentages. Each user sees the documents assigned to them, and the Dashboard block shows what’s still waiting to be signed.

FAQs

You can assign signers by department or by position using your organizational structure, or hand-pick specific users. You can combine these options on a single document, so it reaches only the people who need to sign it.
Each document can have a start date, an expiration deadline, and automatic reminders. You decide how often reminders are sent and what they say, so learners who haven’t signed keep getting nudged until they do.
A published document can’t be edited. To make changes, unpublish it first, update the document, dates, or reminders, then publish it again. You can publish and unpublish at any time.
