Keep your server fast
The more data sits on your server, the slower Moodle gets. Set data upload quotas for courses and user groups and avoid learning disruptions and frustrating wait times.
Gain more visibility
Track how many files and how much data each learner adds to the system, whether that’s the fourth essay draft or a large video file for a work presentation.
Save on maintenance costs
An overloaded server costs more to run. By keeping storage lean and performance high, you avoid the extra expense of maintaining a bloated system.
Spot space hogs
Filter usage by course to see which ones are taking up the most room. Clean up the heaviest offenders so the whole system runs faster.
Keep learners up to date
Give your learners a clear view of data they use. Each user sees how much data they’ve used and how much remains in a simple pie chart to cut unnecessary clutter.
Generate reports and statistics
Access detailed reports broken down by user type, course, department, and more. Export the reports in your preferred format for audits and further analysis.
Set up notifications
Alert system admins or specific users when usage nears a threshold you choose, so you can act before heavy files disrupt learning.
1
Set up limits
Set up data upload quotas for each course and user group. Give more space to users who need it, like course creators, and less to learners who only need to upload a few files. The plugin then monitors how many files and how much data each user uploads per course. Later on, you can increase or decrease course limits as needed.
2
Set up threshold notifications
Turn on notifications and choose the usage percentage that triggers them. Notify system admins or specific users when usage nears the limit, so you’re warned in good time.
3
Review reports and statistics
Open the reports to see usage broken down by user type, course, department, and more. Use the Users Files Upload Quotas section to see who uploaded how many files.
4
Clean up the heaviest courses
Filter usage by course to see which ones take up the most space. From there, you can lower upload limits, delete unnecessary files, or compress files within the course material.
5
Export reports for audits
Export your usage reports in your preferred format for record-keeping or audits.
6
Keep maintenance in check
Access the server usage dashboard to clean up clutter. If you’d like a hand, Vextur can take care of server maintenance to keep performance fast without you lifting a finger.

FAQs
System admins can access reports and statistics on overall data usage and server space in the Quick Menu section called Users Files Upload Quota. There you’ll find a window called Users Files Quotas where you can see your server storage.
Users see their own used and remaining data in a pie chart on the main page. Together, these give you a clear view of how much space is in use and how much remains.

In the plugin page, you can filter usage by course and user group to see which ones consume the most storage. From there, you can clean up the heaviest courses so everything runs faster.
That’s exactly what this plugin is for. You can set, adjust, and track upload limits per course, get notified before limits are reached, and clean up space-heavy areas, all of which keep your server running smoothly.
